<strong> More about Mrs. Hunt  </strong>
<a href="http:// fthswiki.org/ wp-content/uploads/ 2012/08/MrsHuntat15.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-37549 alignright" alt="Here is my sophmore class picture. I attended Hayfield HS in Alexandria, Virginia. " src="http://fthswiki.org/ wp-content/uploads/2012/08/ MrsHuntat15.jpg" width="85" height="112" /></a>
I was born in Portland, Oregon to a military family and I have had the pleasure of living in some beautiful places in our country.  Such places include include Portland, OR, Moscow, ID, Alexandria, Arlington and Blacksburg, VA and of course our lovely Ventura, CA.
As a high school sophomore (see picture to the right) I started a passion for two things that I am even more passionate about today, running and of course SCIENCE.  My love of science took me to Virginia Tech where I studied Biology, Chemistry and Education.  Four years after starting my teaching career in Fairfax County, Virginia my husband Evan and I decided to move to Southern California.  As a Civilian Naval contractor, Evan found a job in Oxnard, CA and I soon after discovered Foothill Tech HS.  We feel so blessed and happy to live in such a beautiful city.  Although I appreciate the experiences that I have had living in various places in the United States, it is nice to finally have a place to call home.  Every now and then, however, a bit of "southern" comes out from my years in Virginia.  For example, I sometimes say "y'all", I like my tea sweet and I still follow the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech football (see chart below).
My family and I love all of the wonderful things that Ventura has to offer.  As a runner and cyclist I love exploring our rugged coastline and hillsides.  I also consider Ventura to be a great place to raise a family.  If you see me out and about cycling, running or pushing my daughter in her stroller give me a wave.

I love to run, hike and walk.  Basically I enjoy moving around outside and I am always looking for animals to spot. Below I will keep track of my miles and animal sightings starting on August 20th (the first day of school).  I would also love to hear about your outdoor adventures! <img class="alignright" alt="" src="http://t0.gstatic.com/ images?q=tbn: ANd9GcT2JRwVamUjMl0d0f_ f69wuRp5Oyx40AwqNwDEsmsAowo9mt30I: rlv.zcache.com/boar_wild_ pig_hog_pigs_ boars_cartoon_ stickers-r3e013979aa5d48368ca5c557b4721e5c_ v9waf_8byvr_324.jpg" width="135" height="135" />
