A Bit About Me:

I’m happy to say this is my 10th year at FTHS.  I grew up in Ventura and attended Saticoy, Balboa and Buena.  Immediately out of high school, I moved to San Diego to attend SDSU where I majored in Social Science.  I moved back to Ventura and attended California Lutheran University for my teaching credential, which I am still paying for!  Prior to coming to FTHS I taught both middle and high school at a private, college preparatory school in the valley.  I used to spend a fortune on gas, but instead of an hour-long commute, I now have about a 7 minute drive to work :-)

I have a 13 year old daughter named Elizabeth….she is the BEST!  My summer was spent doing all kinds of fun things that I’m lucky enough to do…hiking in mammoth, beach days with friends & family, sleeping in, adventures with my daughter and husband (very  hard to come back to work!).  My husband, Chuck, and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary by renewing our vows with an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas surrounded by many of our closest friends–it was hilarious, fantastic, and insanely entertaining!!

A few things to know about my “likes”:

  • Good walks
  • Chips (almost any kind!)
  • Eating out
  • Spending time with our wonderful friends & family
  • Playing board games with my daughter, husband and good friends
  • Going to the beach
  • Visiting our friends in San Diego
  • Reading and playing games on my Kindle (I think I have tendonitis in my thumb from it!!!)
  • Crab and sushi
  • Coffee (but I only drink DECAF!!!)
  • Reading People magazine
  • Christmas music
  • Going to amusement parks or Botanical Gardens
  • NOT having to set the alarm for the next morning
  • Palm Springs, San Diego, Morro Bay, Monterey, Mammoth

These are some of my least favorite things:

  • Heights
  • Anchovies (unless they are blended into a great Caesar Salad dressing!)
  • Heights
  • Gum under the tables in I 104
  • Heights
  • Scary overpasses on freeways that you have to drive on
