About me:

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States at the age of 14. I spent the next 12 years of my life in the San Fernando Valley.  I attended Canoga Park High School and was part of the graduating class of 1992. After high school I attended CSU, Northridge where I received my Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Shortly after college graduation, I went backpacking in Europe by myself for 3 months. Ever since then my love for travelling grew and every year I would go somewhere I’ve never been. My career in Civil Engineering in Santa Barabara was a brief 3 years. I never got to design bridges which was always something I wanted to do growing up.  I decided to change career in 2002 and got my teaching credential with MEd at UCSB. My first teaching job was at Ventura High School where I taught from Pre-Algebra to Honors Geometry/Trigonometry. I love teaching so much more than my old career.

I got married to my husband Dan in 2005 and in 2008 my daughter Kalea was born followed by Kara 2 years later. I’ve lived in Ventura since 2002.  In 2011 I was given the opportunity to work part-time here at Foothill Technology High School. I work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and that is perfect for me. I get the best of both worlds: working the job I love and being with my children.

I hope you enjoy the time you spend in my classroom. I will do all I can to help you learn Math. Please feel free to see me for help during FIRE and lunch time.
